Oh yes....our morning Bratislava guide was huge...6 feet 8 inchesRight now it is 4:15 pm, Tues afternoon. We are on our way to Vienna, Austria. River Cruising is so delightful! It is wonderful to look out the ceiling to floor sliding glass window of your cabin and see the river and scenery of the area. So far we vote for river cruising over ocean cruising. There are only 105 passengers on board compared to the 3,000 + we had on our cruise in the Caribbean! We have met some people from all over: England, Israel, Canada, Michigan, Colorado, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, California...and I'm sure there are others that I haven't mentioned. There are some younger than us, but most of them fall in the age range from 60-80 years old!
We met our guide right near the ship's dock at 9:30 am this morning and headed out to the old town of Bratislava. As you have noticed from the photo our guide was tall----6 feet 8 inches!! Really sweet and really a good guide...with lots of information about the city and history of the area. Very picturesque little town! We were back on the ship by 11:45 am and left for our next stop....Vienna...by 12 pm. We opted to have a light lunch in the ship's lounge. Our lunch was delicious!!! (sliced meats, cheese, delicious salads, breads, pastries...etc...etc....yummy!)
I will post some photos and then need to hurry and get dressed for a "briefing"
by our cruise director and then a early dinner before docking in Vienna for an evening of musical enjoyment in the music capital of the world! Hugs to all...........

ReplyDeleteHow are you?Loved the picts of Bratislava,poses and flower girl(grandma jo).Bratislava looks really fun!Its amazing that all of the streets are brick,and the buildings look sooooo old,and fancy.They look so much different than all of the buildings in America.

ReplyDeleteThose little red wagons in Bratislava are actually taxis. It is a beautiful little town and the people are so nice. River Cruising is the only way to go. We have done 46 cruises and river cruising is our favorite way to travel. Now get ready for a wonderful experience in the cosmopolitan city of Vienna. Land of Amadeus Mozart and many more of the composers. Be sure to see the arena where the Lippizzaner horses and riders practice. It is next to the palace apartments. I see you are not short of having fun!!!!
