We both had a good night's rest....7 hours of much needed sleep! We are now looking out our "bay window" at the river Danube as it slowly awakens. There is an electric train that follows the water front on both sides of the river. Our hotel is on the new side of the river, "pest".....we look across the river to the old side, or "Buda"side. This sight is quite majestic and looks so medieval.....so "foreign" to us...I am sitting at a desk facing directly at the Buda Castle, with many other old, old buildings lining the river front. Truly amazing and we are excited to begin our trip here in fascinating Budapest. I have taken a few photos out the window in these early morning hours and will post them to give you a little flavor of what we will see in the upcoming 2 days. Thank you for your comments. It makes us feel like we are talking to you and feeling of your excitement as well, as we experience this new adventure.........................to be continued this evening.
It is now almost 9:30 pm in Budapest and we just finished a lovely dinner on our river cruise ship, "The Amadante". We had a most relaxing and delightful day here, starting with quite a gourmet buffet in our hotel, The Sofitel! We then took a taxi just a couple of miles to church where we were welcomed by some members and missionaries from the USA (Utah, imagine that!). A darling young sister missionary from Hungary spoke beautiful English and translated the entire sacrament meeting service for us. We felt the spirit very strongly as we sat among the Hungarian saints singing familiar hymns in the Hungarian language! What a treat!

It sounds beautiful. That is so cool that you were able to attend church. I think that it is truly amazing that you can travel across the world and still feel the spirit and find comfort in the familiar. Thank you for updating your blog. It is so exciting to check and find a post.
