Gene relaxing on the bed after a wonderful day in FirenzeIt is now 8:30 pm on Nov. 4th, our first day in the beautiful city of Firenze! After only about 6 hours of sleep, we had another lovely buffet breakfast(included in the price of the room!) in the hotel dining room. We then walked...very fast..to meet our guide at 9:15 am on the Ponte Vecchio bridge. Our 3 hour walking tour took us to such famous sights as the Duomo, Uffizi Square and the Accademia Gallery with Michelangelo's David! There are no photos allowed inside the gallery that "houses" David. Let me tell you........this 17 foot statue of David is magnificent! After finishing with our walking tour, we had a delightful lunch and then a delicious gelato (actually our 2nd of the day) and then walked on back to the hotel to rest, revamp and read up on what we might do for our remaining days here in Florence and the surrounding little towns. We really are both so tired from a busy traveling day and not much sleep last night. We are going out for a little bite to eat before retiring for the night. Again we send our love to all.
Howsa going? I'm good love you lots.You guys should do that lock thingi-mickbob, and throw the keys into the river. The picks of Germany and Italy look super cool. Wish I wuz there. You're hotel room looks like....um....extremely old fashion, and sort of suite like!!!!

Marley Ann-thanks for your comments! We are having such a fantastic time. Our hotel is old--about 200 years. I have sent you a few postcards. May take a long time for them to get to you and Jazzy.
